Tata Power Shares Slip 1.54% as Q2 Net Profit Declines 57% YoY

Tata Power is currently trading at RS 389.50, down by 6.10 points or 1.54% from its previous close of RS 395.60 on the BSE.

The stock opened at RS 389.25 and recorded a high of RS 395.70 and a low of RS 387.80 during the session. So far, around 8,44,240 shares have been traded on the counter.

The BSE Group 'A' stock, with a face value of RS 1, hit a 52-week high of RS 447.70 on December 9, 2024, and a 52-week low of RS 326.25 on February 17, 2025. Over the past week, the scrip has traded between RS 401.95 and RS 386.05. The company’s current market capitalization stands at RS 1,24,506.41 crore.

Promoters hold 46.86% stake in the company, while institutions and non-institutions own 26.85% and 26.28%, respectively.

In its financial performance, Tata Power Company reported a 57.26% decline in standalone net profit at RS 431.10 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2025 (Q2FY26), compared to RS 1,008.61 crore in the same quarter last year. The company’s total income dropped 40.41% to RS 3,395.27 crore from RS 5,697.59 crore in the year-ago period.

On a consolidated basis, the company posted a marginal decline in net profit to RS 919.44 crore in Q2FY26, compared to RS 926.53 crore last year. Consolidated total income was slightly lower at RS 16,050.32 crore versus RS 16,210.80 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
