In a major development, Acme Solar Holdings has emerged as the winning bidder for NHPC’s tender for a cumulative capacity of 275 MW / 550 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Andhra Pradesh. The projects will be executed across two locations—Kuppam and Ghani.

For the Kuppam project, Acme secured the bid at a tariff of RS. 210,000 per MW per month for a capacity of 50 MW / 100 MWh. For the Ghani project, the company won at a tariff of RS. 222,000 per MW per month for a capacity of 225 MW / 450 MWh. The projects are required to provide system availability for two full operational cycles of two hours each day.

Additionally, Acme will receive viability gap funding of RS. 27 lakh per MWh or 30% of the total project cost, whichever is lower. This marks the company’s entry into standalone BESS projects, expanding its portfolio beyond solar, wind, FDRE, and hybrid renewable energy solutions.

The NHPC auction was part of a February 2025 tender aimed at boosting energy storage capacity in Andhra Pradesh.

Acme Solar Holdings continues to strengthen its position as a leading renewable energy player in India with diverse projects across solar, wind, hybrid, and firm & dispatchable renewable energy segments.
