Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Gains 0.82%, Signs Major Contract for Multi-Purpose Vessels

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) is currently trading at RS 1718.60, marking an increase of 13.90 points or 0.82% from its previous close of RS 1704.70 on the BSE.

The stock opened at RS 1755.05 and recorded a high of RS 1790.00 and a low of RS 1713.75. A total of 1,71,933 shares have been traded so far.

GRSE, a BSE Group 'A' stock with a face value of RS 10, reached its 52-week high of RS 2834.60 on July 5, 2024, and a 52-week low of RS 761.70 on March 28, 2024. Over the last week, it fluctuated between RS 1790.00 and RS 1374.95. The company currently holds a market capitalization of RS 19,686.91 crore.

Promoter holdings in the company stand at 74.50%, while institutional investors and non-institutional investors hold 5.57% and 19.93%, respectively.

In a significant development, GRSE has signed a contract with Germany’s Carsten Rehder Schiffsmakler and Reederei GmbH & Co. KG on March 24, 2025, for the construction and delivery of the 7th and 8th multi-purpose vessels (MPV) of 7,500 DWT in Hamburg, Germany. This agreement follows an ‘Option Agreement’ for four additional MPVs. The total order value for eight vessels stands at approximately $108 million.

Each MPV will be 120 metres long and 17 metres wide, with a maximum draft of 6.75 metres. The ships are designed to carry 7,500 metric tonnes of cargo, including bulk, general, and project cargoes, with containers stowed on hatch covers. Additionally, these vessels are built to accommodate multiple large windmill blades on deck.
