Coromandel International Gains 0.68%, Acquires Majority Stake in NACL Industries

Coromandel International is currently trading at RS 1774.45, up by 12.00 points or 0.68% from its previous closing of RS 1762.45 on the BSE.

The stock opened at RS 1762.45 and recorded a high of RS 1777.50 and a low of RS 1738.00. So far, 2,740 shares have been traded.

The BSE group 'A' stock, with a face value of RS 1, touched a 52-week high of RS 1977.10 on 06-Jan-2025 and a 52-week low of RS 1036.65 on 20-Mar-2024. In the past week, the scrip's high and low stood at RS 1783.15 and RS 1700.00, respectively. The company's current market capitalization is RS 51,412.57 crore.

Promoters hold 56.97% of the company, while Institutions and Non-Institutions hold 29.33% and 13.71%, respectively.

In a strategic move, Coromandel International has signed definitive agreements to acquire a majority stake in NACL Industries (NACL), a key player in India's crop protection sector. The company will acquire a 53% shareholding in NACL for RS 820 crore at RS 76.7 per share from the current promoter, KLR Products. Additionally, it plans to launch an open offer to acquire up to 26% of the company's equity share capital under SEBI Takeover Regulations. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed in the coming months.

This acquisition will strengthen Coromandel International’s position in the Indian crop protection industry, enhance its technical capabilities, and accelerate its entry into contract manufacturing. It will also support faster product commercialization and portfolio expansion.
