PFC Shares Rise as Subsidiary Incorporates New SPV

Power Finance Corporation (PFC) shares surged to ₹469.95 on the BSE, marking an increase of ₹16.20 or 3.57% from the previous close of ₹453.75.

The stock opened at ₹459.80, hitting a high of ₹470.80 and a low of ₹454.20 during the session. A total of 1,10,792 shares changed hands on the counter. The stock, categorized under the BSE group 'A', has a face value of ₹10. It reached its 52-week high of ₹580.35 on July 12, 2024, and a low of ₹309.20 on November 28, 2023. Over the last week, the stock traded between ₹479.55 and ₹433.00. PFC's market capitalization currently stands at ₹1,49,742.12 crore.

Shareholding patterns show promoters hold 55.99%, while institutions own 35.17%, and non-institutions account for 8.83%.

In a significant development, PFC’s wholly owned subsidiary, PFC Consulting, has incorporated a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) named MEL Power Transmission. This SPV is set up for the development of a transmission system to evacuate power from the Mahan Energen Generating Station in Madhya Pradesh. Once the bidding process concludes, the SPV will be transferred to the selected bidder, who will take charge of the project’s development.
