Coal India has entered into a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) for a renewable energy project in Rajasthan. The newly formed Joint Venture Company (JVC) will be set up as a ‘Private Limited’ entity with an initial paid-up share capital of Rs 10 lakh.
In the JVC, Coal India will hold 74% of the equity, while RRVUNL will own the remaining 26%. Both companies will nominate directors, with Coal India appointing four and RRVUNL two.
Coal India is the world’s largest coal producer and supplies both coking and non-coking coal for various uses.
